We get a lot of questions from brides (and grooms!) about what a trash the dress session is; the main questions being “do I have to actually ruin my dress” or “is it just the bride or the couple together”… The simple answer is that there are no rules!! Our trash the dress sessions (Or Day-After sessions) are a great chance to get back in your wedding attire and get some awesome images of the two of you together (or just you!). A lot of times on the wedding day our time with just the couple can get rushed and although we still get some great images of the two of you, there might not be enough time to get as much variety as we’d like! We have a lot of couples who got married in the city and want some images out in nature or vice versa… Got married outside of Boston and are dying to get some urban, chic images in the city. The day after session is a great time to do that! For Matt and I it’s the prime time to get to play with lighting techniques and posing ideas we’ve been dying to try. We tend to approach these sessions more like we would a fashion or editorial shoot, we’ve been really happy with the results! We’re really excited that this is gaining popularity with our clients!!

We had a blast! Heather had very obviously spent lots of time researching engagement sessions and they arrived looking absolutely amazing. Heather was wearing the cutest green polka dotted shoes which added a great pop of color to her white sundress. They brought along with them cupcakes and balloons to use as props during the shoot.It was truly a lot of fun, they were so easy to photograph as they were laughing the whole time. Matt and I can’t wait for their wedding this September at the Codman Estate.
