Lauren and Chris were the perfect example of why we do engagement sessions! Engagement sessions for us are not just about great pictures (don’t get me wrong, we make sure you get those!), to us they’re very much about getting to know our couples. We try to have the couple pick something for their shoot that they will have fun doing, keep them laughing and completely relaxed. I knew Matt and I would have a blast with these two when Lauren suggested meeting up in Beacon Hill and exploring Boston on foot… She declared that this was one of her and Chris’s ways to spend time together… Wandering, trying to decide on the best place to eat, eating and then wandering more. While Matt and I were in school together we would wander for hours doing the exact same thing. We could not have asked for a better day for weather, it was sunny, breezy day. These two made our job so easy! They were laughing the whole time, I don’t think Matt or I had to crack a single bad joke throughout our time with them.
We can’t wait for their wedding this September at the Boston Harbor Hotel
Lauren and Chris; I hope you both enjoy looking through this set… More to come soon!
On Sunday we had the opportunity to work with an amazing couple at Crane Beach in Ipswich, MA. I say Katie and Gabe were amazing not only because they were so much fun but because they were such troopers. Katie especially amazed me as the flies and mosquitoes came out for a hazy evening at Crane Estate before we went to the beach. Bug bites all around, Ariel and I releasing the shutter with one hand and swatting insects with the other. Katie and Gabe eventually running through the woods in a last ditch effort to escape.
In the end however we came away with great images for their engagement session and all because they would not give up. Thank you both for staying to the end, we had a great time and hope you enjoy the photos.
When Heather and Brad suggested Halibut Point for their engagement session I was psyched! I’ve been wanting to do an engagement session there ever since Matt and I accidentally found it on one of our exploratory drives around Cape Ann. It is one of the most gorgeous, best kept, secrets of Cape Ann. When we met up with Brad and Heather this past monday afternoon, the fog had cleared and we were left with beautiful sunny skies spotted with amazing cloud patterns. We spent a couple hours wandering down by the ocean and at the quarry taking advantage of the great light. These two were so much fun to photograph. Matt and I are looking forward to their wedding this September.
Here are some favorites!
When Matt and I first sat down with these two, we knew they would be absolutely awesome to work with! They had all sorts of ideas for their engagement session, Chuck particularly had some very strange ideas which were vetoed quite quickly by Leslie. One of the ideas however stuck and we ran with it, Chuck desperately wanted to mock the famous American Gothic Painting. They truly went all out; pitchfork, apron, right down to the pendant on Chucks neck. Yes, I did say Chucks neck…They decided to swap roles for the photo. On Sunday Matt and I arrived a bit early to the Salem Witch House where we had decided to re-create this shot. We were a little worried that we wouldn’t recognize these two. From a mile away we spotted a couple walking down the street in full American Gothic attire.
Matt and I are currently working on editing these wonderful photographs, for now I have posted one of the shots taken after the actual mock. Just to wet your appetite a bit.
Their enthusiasm continued throughout the rest of the shoot, they had lots of special places around salem they were excited to take us to! Not only did they do such a good job of planning the session but they made our job so easy! These two were laughing and joking around the entire time!
Thank you both for all the effort and enthusiasm you brought to the shoot!
We can’t wait to photograph your wedding next May!
Here I am at work capturing photograph number 5, thanks Matt!!
This is why we choose not to wear our Sunday's best to our engagement sessions! |

When Matt and I first met Annie and Josh for their initial meeting, we were both instantly excited about the possibility of documenting their wedding day. Photographers are always looking for something new and different so of course when they told us their would be llamas at the wedding reception… This sort of piqued our interest. The fact that Annie and Josh were both so excited about all this made it ten times better because we new they would be just the type of couple we enjoy working with! Needless to say we were thrilled when they told us they’d like to have us photograph their wedding day. Annie has been awesome since then, emailing me with lots of questions and compliments on our work…We truly love building relationships with all of our couples so we love these interactions! We were so excited to officially kick off our busy wedding season with Annie and Joshes (Brady too!) engagement session this past weekend. We had absolutely amazing weather, it was almost too hot at 4:30 in the afternoon when we met! These guys were absolute rockstars putting up with Matt and I running around like idiots (we get a little over excited when we have cameras in our hands), Brady was a little rockstar too and didn’t get mad when I kept calling him a her (sorry Brady!).
Here is a sneak peak for you guys as we get all the others ready! Thanks for making our job so easy, you guys were awesome models!
We can’t wait for your wedding at the Bradley Estate this July!
